Who this policy covers
This policy applies to Heartbridge Counseling, operated by Katherine Posey, MHC (in Progress), a student therapist supervised by Dr. Rebecca Glose, LMHC, at A Better Way Counseling Service, Vancouver, WA. It covers information collected through heartbridge.life.
If you become a client, your clinical information is governed separately by a signed Notice of Privacy Practices provided at intake — which covers your rights under HIPAA.
Information collected through this website
When you use the contact form on this site, the following information is collected:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (if you choose to provide it)
- The reason you're reaching out and anything else you share in the message field
This information is submitted through Netlify Forms and delivered to katherine@heartbridge.life. It is used solely to respond to your inquiry. It is not sold, shared with third parties for marketing, or used for any other purpose.
This site does not use tracking pixels, advertising networks, or analytics tools that identify individual visitors.
Cookies and site analytics
This site may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand general traffic patterns — such as how many people visit and which pages are viewed. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
No third-party advertising cookies are used on this site.
How contact information is stored
Messages submitted through the contact form are received by email and stored in Katherine's email inbox. They are not retained in a database and are not shared outside of Heartbridge Counseling except as required to provide services you've requested (for example, coordinating with a supervising clinician).
Netlify, the platform that hosts this website, may retain form submission data for a limited period. You can review Netlify's privacy practices at netlify.com/privacy.
Clinical records and HIPAA
If you become a client, your clinical records — session notes, intake forms, payment information — are maintained separately from this website and are governed by HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and Washington State law.
Your rights under HIPAA include the right to access your records, request corrections, and understand how your information is used and disclosed. A full Notice of Privacy Practices will be provided and reviewed with you before your first session.
Washington State-specific protections
Washington residents have additional privacy protections under state law, including the Washington My Health MY Data Act (MHMDA), which expands protections for consumer health data beyond what HIPAA covers.
Heartbridge Counseling does not sell consumer health data. Health-related information submitted through this site (such as the reason you're reaching out) is used only to respond to your inquiry and, if you choose to become a client, to support your care.
Washington residents may contact Katherine directly to ask questions about how their information is handled or to request that information submitted through the contact form be deleted.
Children's privacy
This website is not directed at children under 13, and no information is knowingly collected from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, please contact Katherine directly so it can be removed.
